About Ravi Dixit
'The Smiling Yogi'
Ravi knows the benefits of yoga like no other, having grown up in India where yoga is a part of daily life and considered essential for maintaining health and happiness.
"Yoga is not about the perfect pose, it’s about reconnecting with yourself and finding harmony between you and you. This will bring peace and health to your body and mind."
Finding balance in a busy world
As yoga’s popularity grows in the West, the benefits of this powerful practice are reaching far and wide. However, many of the original teachings are becoming diluted in the process. Ravi’s passion as a teacher is to help you reconnect with the true essence of yoga. His mission is to make the principles and values of traditional Indian yoga approachable for everyone. As a modern yogi living in London, he understands the challenges of a western life and can guide you to feel balanced in a busy world.
So humble, kind and loving...
"Ravi is one of the nicest yoga teachers whom I have practised with in London and in India. His teaching style is unique and so addictive. I love his authenticity and how he explains everything in detail. He is so knowledgeable and shares his practice with so much love & enthusiasm. Practising with Ravi has taken my yoga to the next level and as a fellow teacher I have tremendous respect for him. He is so humble, so kind and so loving."
Ravi was born in India to a family of spiritual teachers. From a young age he grew up with yoga practice as part of his daily life. In his early twenties he lived at several ashrams in Rishikesh, where he studied Hatha and Ashtanga yoga with Master Yogi-Ji.
Some years later, he worked as the resident teacher at one of the top retreat centres in Goa, where he led classes for thousands of students from all over the world.
In 2017 he moved to London and quickly became one of the city’s most sought after traditional yoga teachers.
How yoga saved Ravi’s life
One evening in November 2020, Ravi’s life was turned upside down when he was critically injured in a road accident in Goa and spent over a month in Intensive Care on a ventilator. By grace and miracles he survived and he’s extremely grateful to be given a second life. He feels that the power of yoga played an essential part in his survival and recovery.
